Description
This 19th-century Persian manuscript from the Qajar period is an illuminated volume featuring numerous hand-painted miniatures. The illustrations are executed in opaque pigments and depict various courtly, romantic, and intimate scenes with fine detailing. The text consists of extensive sections of Persian calligraphy written in black and red ink. The work includes decorative unwan headpieces with floral motifs. The manuscript is housed in a brown leather binding featuring blind-stamped borders and a central foliate motif. Protective tissue inserts are present between several pages to shield the illustrations.
