A QAJAR PAINTING DEPICTS ARDESHIR MIRZA AND SULAYMAN KHAN SAHAM AL-DOWLEH REVIEWING TROOPS WITH NASIR AL-DIN SHAH QAJAR

This Qajar style painting depicts a formal military review featuring Nasir al-Din Shah Qajar alongside high-ranking officials, identified through market consensus as Ardeshir Mirza and Sulayman Khan Saham Al-Dowleh. The four primary figures in the foreground are rendered in ornate, heavily embroidered military tunics featuring epaulettes, various medals, and tall black astrakhan hats known as kolah. The central figure of the Shah is distinguished by a light blue sash and a white plumed hat. The background illustrates an expansive parade ground with multiple formations of soldiers in red and black uniforms, accompanied by cannons, set before a walled enclosure and distant mountains. The work is housed in a decorative carved wooden frame with a wide orange inner border. The reverse is finished with a simple brown backing and hanging wire.
