Description
A FRAMED PORTRAIT OF REZA SHAH PAHLAVI IN MILITARY UNIFORM, PERSIA, 20TH CENTURY
This portrait depicts Reza Shah Pahlavi rendered in charcoal or pencil on paper. The subject is shown in a three-quarter view wearing a military uniform including a peaked cap adorned with a lion emblem, several military medals, a sash, and a large star-shaped order. The drawing is housed within an ornate gilded wood frame featuring a wide maroon velvet mat. A small metal emblem in the shape of a crown is affixed to the matting directly above the portrait. The construction includes a cardboard backing secured with a wire for hanging.
