Description
An illuminated Ottoman-period Quran manuscript bound in dark burgundy leather. The binding features blind-tooled floral grid patterns and a traditional envelope flap. The text is written in naskh script in black ink, contained within gold-ruled borders. The manuscript features illuminated double-page openings decorated with gold leaf and polychrome floral motifs. Marginalia includes floral medallions in gold and various colors. The flyleaves and final pages contain several handwritten inscriptions in black and red ink, including a notation with a potential late 19th-century date.
