Description
This rectangular steel pen box, known as a qalamdan, features damascened silver and gold inlaid decoration in the Indo-Persian style. The exterior is decorated with floral scrolls, rosettes, and circular medallions across the beveled lid and sides. A centrally located keyhole is positioned on the front face. The interior is lined with red velvet and includes a small partitioned compartment at one end. The construction utilizes iron or steel with precious metal inlay.
