ARABIC MANUSCRIPT, KITAB TOHFAT AL-BAYAN FI ADAB AL FITYAN TRANSLATED FROM GREEK TO ARABIC , SCRIBED BY IBRAHIM IBN HANNA AL-MAQDISI, JERUSALEM, CIRCA 1770, 18TH CENTURY
Awork translated from Greek by Sophronius, Metropolitan of Acre. The text is executed in black and red ink on laid paper. A colophon identifies the scribe as Ibrahim ibn Hanna al-Maqdisi and notes the completion of the work in Jerusalem. The manuscript is bound in dark brown leather featuring blind-stamped rectangular borders and a central floral motif.
