Lot 139:
Description
A collection of Indian arrows featuring slender shafts of bamboo or reed construction. The group includes various metal heads such as small conical points, narrow tips, and a large leaf-shaped blade. The shafts exhibit natural nodes and surface wear, with remnants of dark bindings and decorative pigments located near the nocks. The nocks are of diverse construction, featuring simple notches and applied bone or light-colored wood components. These arrows are consistent with ethnographic examples from the Lucknow region.
