Description

This all-metal Indo-Persian combination weapon features a head fashioned in the form of an animal, likely a ram or deer, with two upright ears and a single long, spiraled horn serving as a vertical spike. Opposite the animal-headed hammer is a broad, crescent-shaped axe blade. The weapon is constructed with an all-metal segmented shaft, accented by five raised decorative rings and terminating in a flared, rounded pommel. The entire surface is composed of iron or steel. A small circular auction label from Christie’s is affixed to the blade, marked with the number 52 and the reference 10428.
