Description
AN ISLAMIC MATHEMATICAL MANUSCRIPT, SHARH KHULASAT AL-HISAB, COPIED BY SAEED BIN ABDULLAH BIN SALEH AL-MALIKI IN KHORFAKKAN (UAE), DATED 1104 AH
This Islamic manuscript is a mathematical treatise titled Sharh Khulasat al-Hisab (Commentary on the Essence of Calculation) by Umar b. Ahmad, based on the work by Baha al-Din al-Amili. The text is executed in black naskh script on cream-colored paper, with headers and key terms rubricated in red ink. The colophon identifies the scribe as Saeed bin Abdullah bin Saleh al-Maliki of the Bani Yas tribe, located in Khorfakan on the coast of the Sea of Oman. Additional ownership notes link the volume to Al Dhafra. The subject matter comprises complex mathematical calculations and algebraic problems, supplemented by hand-drawn tables and geometric references. The volume is housed in a later half-red-leather binding featuring blue and brown marbled paper boards.
