Description

This square silver amulet case is finely crafted with a hinged lid and decorated on the front with an elegant panel of incised Persian calligraphy framed by multiple beaded borders. The script is executed with confident, flowing strokes, surrounded by small punched detailing that enhances its visual depth. The case opens to reveal an interior compartment containing a manuscript amulet written in black ink with red highlights, preserved behind the original protective panel. The reverse is plain, bearing natural wear and patination consistent with age and devotional use. Amulet cases of this type were traditionally worn for spiritual protection, often containing Qur’anic verses or talismanic inscriptions. This example stands out for its refined workmanship, intact mechanism, and well-preserved interior text, making it a highly collectible piece of Persian devotional silverwork.
