Description

A charming three-piece Anglo-Indian silver tea set comprising a teapot, covered sugar bowl, and cream jug, each resting on four stylised leaf-form feet. The globular bodies are richly engraved in high detail with continuous hunting scenes featuring riders, hounds, and deer amidst dense foliage, all framed by geometric and floral borders. The chasing is deeply executed, giving the vessels a textured, sculptural quality characteristic of colonial Indian silversmithing of the period.

The teapot is distinguished by its elegant curved spout and domed lid surmounted by a knop finial, while the sugar bowl and cream jug each feature similarly engraved hinged lids and coiled serpent-form handles, adding to their exotic charm. The interiors retain traces of original gilding, visible beneath the hinged lids.
