Description
A fine and richly illuminated Islamic scroll featuring the Asma’ al-Husna (99 Names of Allah) along with the various honorific names and titles of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Beautifully written in black and red ink with gold and floral borders, highlighted with intricate blue and gilt decoration. Signed and dated by the scribe Muhammad Shafee, 1226 AH (1811 CE). A remarkable example of devotional Islamic manuscript art from the early 19th century.
