Description

A striking set of three 19th-century Turkmen tribal silver pendants, each of oval form and beautifully decorated with traditional repoussé and filigree work. The pendants feature twin circular panels inset with polished red agate cabochons, arranged within intricate silver borders and embellished with applied granulation and engraved motifs.

Suspended from each pendant are multiple silver dangles terminating in small coral beads, adding movement and vibrant contrast to the design. The backs are plain, with loop fittings for attachment to a necklace or garment, typical of Turkmen tribal adornments worn for both ornamentation and spiritual protection.

These pendants exemplify the rich silversmithing tradition of the Turkmen tribes of Central Asia, combining geometric precision with the symbolic use of agate and coral—materials long associated with strength and vitality.
