Description

This richly adorned 19th-century Ottoman Anatolian robe/kaftan is crafted from vibrant red fabric intricately patterned with repeating gilt motifs. The garment features extensive metal-thread embroidery, displaying fine Ottoman textile artistry throughout. A contrasting central panel, decorated with dense floral designs in vivid tones with metallic accents, runs vertically along the front opening, framed by ornate embroidered borders. The sleeves and hems are finished with delicate metallic lacework, and original silver ball ornaments remain attached, adding a distinctive decorative touch. The back mirrors the elegance of the front, with uniform gold motifs and a finely embroidered upper panel.

A beautifully preserved example of traditional Ottoman ceremonial dress, notable for its craftsmanship, color, and rare surviving embellishments.
