Lot 308:
Description
A traditional Yomut Turkmen asmalyk, woven in wool with the distinctive pentagonal form used to decorate the flanks of a camel during wedding ceremonies. The central field is arranged in a repeating lattice of angular ashik motifs rendered in vivid tones of madder red, ivory, deep indigo, walnut brown, and turquoise, forming a bold and rhythmic geometric composition characteristic of Yomut tribal weaving.
