Description

This pair of finely crafted earthenware moulds originates from medieval Persia and was used in traditional hammams for shaping bath scrapers. Each piece is formed from unglazed buff clay and displays crisp, deeply impressed geometric and floral motifs characteristic of Seljuk-period decorative arts. One mould exhibits a radiating rosette design with a central medallion, while the other features an intricate interlace pattern framed within a hexagonal border.

Both moulds show expected surface wear, minor chips, and age-related encrustations, consistent with their functional use and considerable antiquity. The reverse sides are plain and retain their original hand-worked texture.
