Description

A group of five finely painted Qajar-period enamel ornaments, each executed in vibrant polychrome enamel over a copper base. The pieces are fashioned in an elongated droplet form, featuring delicately rendered female faces wearing tall, feathered headdresses typical of late Qajar decorative aesthetics. The expressive features—arched brows, almond-shaped eyes, and softly tinted cheeks—are characteristic of Persian enamel portraiture of the period.

The ornament fronts display bright turquoise, cobalt, white, red, and yellow enamels arranged in meticulously detailed patterns, while the reverse sides show natural age-related patination and oxidation to the copper substrate, affirming the objects’ period authenticity. Likely used as decorative appliqués for clothing, headgear, or ceremonial accessories, these pieces represent the refined craftsmanship and distinctive figurative enamelwork associated with late 19th-century Persia.
