Description
This exquisite miniature bronze ewer from Khurasan is finely cast and richly inlaid with silver, showcasing the exceptional metalworking skills of the Seljuk period. The rounded, ribbed body is decorated with alternating vertical bands of refined geometric and pseudo-inscription motifs, each carefully delineated with silver inlay that remains attractively preserved. The elegant spout, gently flaring mouth, and upright handle create a harmonious silhouette, while additional silver-inlaid medallions accent the neck and spout area, adding visual sophistication. The surface bears a deep, naturally patinated finish with traces of verdigris, enhancing its historic character. Miniature vessels of this type were prized luxury objects, often used for perfumes or ritual purposes, and this example is notable for both its intricate workmanship and excellent state of preservation. A fine and collectible piece of medieval Islamic metalwork.
