Description

A finely crafted Indian gilt copper finial, dating from the 18th to 19th century, composed of a series of elegantly turned and stacked domed and bulbous elements, rising to a pointed bud-shaped terminal. The surface retains traces of original gilding, now softly worn and mottled with age, lending the piece a rich, time-worn character. The lower section is shaped with foliate fluting above a slender neck, and the finial is presented on a later display stand for stability and presentation.

Originally likely part of a temple, architectural feature, or ceremonial object, this finial exemplifies traditional Indian metalworking and decorative forms. Its sculptural silhouette and beautifully aged surface make it an appealing piece for collectors of South Asian art and architectural ornaments.
