A finely crafted and richly decorated Damascus brass tray, inlaid with silver and copper, featuring a central radiating medallion surrounded by a complex arrangement of interlaced arabesques, geometric motifs, and roundels containing elegant calligraphic cartouches. The intricate design showcases the exceptional metalworking skills of Syrian craftsmen at the turn of the 20th century, continuing the grand tradition of Mamluk and Ottoman inlay work.
The broad rim is adorned with a continuous band of Arabic inscriptions and geometric panels, all finely inlaid and detailed. The reverse is plain, showing natural patination consistent with age and use.
