An elegant Persian miniature depicting an intimate scene of a reclining couple within a richly adorned interior. The lovers are rendered with refined expressions and delicate modeling, characteristic of the late Qajar artistic style. The figures recline on a patterned textile beneath an arched window opening onto a lush landscape, framed by draped crimson curtains.


Executed in fine opaque pigments and ink on paper, the composition demonstrates the influence of European realism in figure modeling while retaining the ornamental sophistication of traditional Persian miniature painting. The verso bears a Persian inscription, signed and dated 1320 AH (1902–1903 CE).
