Description
Of lobed form, the plate is meticulously worked in steel and lavishly overlaid with gold koftgari, the surface designed as overlapping leaves radiating from the centre. Each leaf is delineated with serrated edges and prominent veins, the fields densely filled with delicate scrolling floral sprays, interspersed with almond-shaped medallions. The shimmering gilded decoration contrasts with the darkened steel ground, enhancing the intricacy of the foliate arabesques.
