Description
Of circular form, the stained-glass plaque is painted in vivid polychrome enamels depicting the bust portrait of an Ottoman nobleman wearing a white turban surmounted by a crescent, his features delicately rendered with fine shading and naturalistic detail. The background is a brilliant yellow field, encircled by concentric glass borders in deep cobalt blue and ruby red, all held within a leading framework that once fitted into a window or architectural aperture.
