Description

Of shallow circular form with a broad rim, the brass body is richly inlaid with silver, its surface adorned with a geometric arrangement of rosettes formed by concentric circles enclosing six-petalled blossoms, repeated across the interior field in a rhythmic lattice. The cavetto is encircled by a wide band of kufic inscription, finely executed in silver against a hatched ground, alternating with palmette motifs. The rim is further articulated with a series of vertical cartouches radiating inward.
