A Meccan manuscript of Kitab al-Mukhtar, a foundational jurisprudential text of the Hanafi school, authored by the eminent jurist Imam Majd al-Din Abdullah ibn Mahmoud ibn Mawdud al-Mawsili al-Hanafi.
This manuscript was copied in 988 AH (1580 CE) in Mecca by the scholar Muhibb al-Din ibn ‘Ala’ al-Din Ahmad al-Qutbi al-Makki, at the Madrasa al-Sultaniyya al-Muradiyya, situated beside the Sacred Sanctuary. Written in a clear naskh script with rubricated headings in red, the text is surrounded by extensive marginal commentary, reflecting its central role in scholarly teaching and legal study. Bound in a later leather binding with central medallion.
