ISLAMIC, INDIAN & ANCIENT ART
Lot 62:
Description
The figure depicts a rider seated atop a mount, rendered with a rounded body and short legs standing on a rectangular base. The surface is covered in a turquoise-blue glaze, now aged with areas of silvery iridescence and surface accretions typical of Kashan wares. The mount’s body is decorated with applied bosses to suggest texture, while the rider is shown upright, wearing a conical headdress and holding the reins.
