Description
Of naturalistic form, the box is cast and chased in solid silver, modelled as a bird with rounded body and short beak. The surface is finely worked in overlapping feather motifs, creating a dense, textured plumage. The head is detailed with a small crest, the eyes set with red cabochon stones. The hinged lid runs along the body, opening to reveal a shallow interior.
