Description
This remarkable manuscript contains five large Quran pages from the Seljuk period, dating to the 5th–6th century Hijri (11th–12th century CE), preserving complete sections from Surah Al-Hajj, Surah Maryam, and Surah Al-Shu‘araa. Written in a bold and highly legible early script, the text is laid out in neat lines with black ink, enhanced with red diacritical marks and illuminated with beautiful gold roundels, rosettes, and marginal ornaments.
The folios are richly decorated with illuminated headings marking the surah divisions, some set within gilt rectangular panels filled with intricate geometric and floral motifS.
