Description

Of rectangular form, the silk ground is woven in alternating vertical bands of crimson red and warm saffron, each enlivened with floral motifs rendered in gilt thread. The red panels are densely patterned with meandering vegetal scrolls, while the saffron-toned registers are adorned with flowering plants rising from leafy bases, their blossoms articulated with rhythmic precision. Narrow guard stripes of indigo blue, filled with scrolling vines and palmettes, provide a striking contrast and serve to frame each floral column.
