Description

Central Asia, Ca. 8th-10th century AD A polychrome pottery figure of a cow with a thick body supported by four sturdy legs with pronounced hooves. The animal’s head capped by a pair of horns features incised staring eyes, a long snout with open nostrils, and drilled mouth. Each side of the body is decorated with brown and red abstract motifs and adorned with handles with suspension loops.
