Description
A Qajar erotic miniature depicts an intimate scene of a reclining couple upon richly patterned cushions and textiles. The male figure, dressed in a red robe and wearing a tall black Qajar cap, embraces a partially unclothed woman adorned in jewellery and a floral headpiece, her robe loosely draped to reveal her form. Beneath the composition appears the signature of the artist Abotaleb and the date 1324 AH (1906–07 AD).
