Lot 192:
Description
A large lithograph portrait depicts King Fuad I of Egypt (r. 1922–1936), rendered in full regalia, wearing a fez, military uniform, and numerous orders, with his hand resting on an ornate sword. Executed with striking detail and gravitas, the work captures the monarch against a draped backdrop with the royal coat of arms above. Signed Carlo Grimaldi, Roma, 1929, it reflects both the royal court’s taste for European academic portraiture and the broader cultural ties between Egypt and Italy during the early 20th century.
