Description
Richly decorated Hajj certificate scroll, commemorating the completion of the sacred pilgrimage to Mecca. Dated 1244 Hijri (1828/29 CE), this scroll combines devotional calligraphy with exquisite illumination, serving both as a personal record of pilgrimage and as a cherished heirloom of faith. Executed on parchment, the scroll features vivid polychrome and gilded decoration. Prominent within its panels are depictions of the Holy Ka‘ba in Mecca and the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina, framed by geometric and floral designs in red, green, blue, and gold. Qur’anic inscriptions and invocations are rendered in bold black naskh and thuluth script, highlighting the sacred nature of the document.
