Description
Of cylindrical form with domed cover, the case is carved in high relief from richly grained sandalwood. The surface is profusely decorated with scrolling foliage inhabited by animals, including deer and birds, arranged among blossoming tendrils that wind around the body. Floral medallions and geometric borders frame the design at both ends, while the lid is carved with a radiating rosette pattern.
