Description

Of pear-shaped form on a spreading foot, with a tall tapering neck, domed lid, and curved spout, the ewer is finely worked in gilt copper (tombak). The body is richly decorated with repoussé and chased floral sprays of scrolling blossoms and foliage, continuing across the shoulder and lid. The tall neck is encircled with beaded bands and further floral motifs, while the domed cover is surmounted by a finial.
