Lot 112:
Description
A gilded Indian tinned copper coffee pot from Kashmir, notable for its rich surface decoration and elegant form. The tall, tapering body is adorned with dense floral and arabesque engravings, arranged in symmetrical scrolling patterns characteristic of Kashmiri metalwork. The hinged domed lid is topped with a lotus-bud finial, while the boldly curved spout emerges gracefully from the front, also engraved with intricate detail. The handle is particularly striking, cast with zoomorphic inspiration, culminating in a animal head at the upper terminal.
