Description
A pair of engraved Persian Islamic candlesticks, dating from the Zand or Qajar period, 18th – 19th century. Each candlestick is beautifully crafted in brass and richly decorated with intricate floral and vegetal motifs, engraved throughout the surface with great precision. The design features a wide circular tray base supporting a tall, tapering stem, surmounted by a ribbed domed section resembling stylised lotus or palm petals, and topped with a cylindrical candleholder. The engraved decoration covers nearly every surface, with arabesque patterns and figural details visible on the stem and base.
