Description
A finely illuminated Safavid manuscript containing a collection of Hadith and devotional prayers arranged according to the days of the week, produced in Persia around the year 1700. The text is penned in clear and elegant naskh script in black ink, with rubrication and occasional marginalia. The manuscript opens with a richly decorated headpiece in gold, cobalt blue, and floral motifs. The layout is organised in double columns, framed with blue and gold rules throughout, preserving a symmetrical and balanced aesthetic. The leather binding, featuring a black cover with central and corner medallions gilt and painted in red and gold.
