Description
A richly coloured Moroccan Islamic prayer book from North Africa, dating to the 18th or 19th century. This manuscript is written in bold and legible Maghribi script, characteristic of the western Islamic world, featuring alternating ink colours including black, red, green, and blue. The text comprises devotional invocations, blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad, and supplications, structured for recitation. The manuscript opens with a finely illuminated title panel in gold and floral motifs, while the rest of the volume is formatted in a single-column layout, each page neatly framed in red and black ruling.
