Lot 262:
Description
A remarkable example of Ottoman artistry, this rare gilded copper samovar takes the form of a duck, showcasing the ingenuity and aesthetic sensibilities of 18th-19th century Turkish craftsmanship. The finely modelled wings and tail are intricately engraved, blending functionality with artistic elegance. The removable lid reveals a rich, red interior. The spout, designed as the duck’s head, exudes charm while retaining its practical purpose, likely for pouring liquids. Resting on a base carved to resemble the duck’s feet.
