Description
A fine silver ewer from Bhuj, India, circa 1890, exquisitely crafted in repousse and chased silver, featuring a stylised bird-form spout and a serpentine handle. The bulbous body is richly decorated with intricate floral scrollwork and hunting scenes, depicting gallant warriors on horseback pursuing wild animals. The gracefully arched handle is sculpted as a coiled cobra with a raised hood, a striking motif symbolising protection and power. The neck transitions seamlessly into the detailed bird-head spout, with finely engraved feathers and a pronounced beak. Stamped Silver at the base.
