Description
A gold necklace, dating to the 1st century B.C. or later. The central amethyst intaglio depicts Tigranes the Great, the influential King of Armenia, while two additional amethysts feature intaglio portraits believed to represent his sons. The amethyst stones are intricately engraved and set within delicate gold bezels, connected by fine gold chain links.
